Copywriter

JOB TYPE: FULL TIME

Fuse Fundraising is a consulting agency that supports nonprofits through direct response fundraising strategy. As a copywriter, you have a talent for authentic storytelling — and are responsible for the ideation, creation, and development of engaging content that brings our clients’ missions to life. Working in a collaborative, team-based environment, the copywriter reports to the VP, Creative Director.

Experience and Capabilities:

  • Relevant work experience in direct response fundraising

  • Ability to create content that supports fundraising strategy with a donor-centric approach across print, direct mail, digital, and social channels in a variety of non-profit sectors 

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills — must be able to handle multiple projects, competing priorities, and meet deadlines 

  • Conceptualize content solutions with limited direction 

  • Curious and solution-focused with the ability to be nimble 

  • Ability to collaborate and be a supportive team member

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 8+ years copywriting experience; agency experience preferred

  • Portfolio with relevant work samples

  • Strong understanding of print production and direct mail

  • Understanding of best practices in direct mail and digital advertising channels

  • Must be able to vary messaging and tone across audiences and brands

  • Ability to strongly present rationale and intent behind creative execution 

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

  • Embraces teamwork and develops effective relationships with others to inspire and support the team 

Experience:

  • Copywriting: 8 years (Required)

  • Creative execution: 1 year (Preferred)

  • Direct response fundraising: 1 year (Required)
