8 Organizations to Donate to in Support of the Maui Wildfires

  1. Aloha United Way advances the health, education, and financial stability of the community by bringing together resources, organizations, and people. The Maui Relief Fund was established to collect donations for Maui United Way and along with their partner agencies, are providing relief funds to communities in need. AUW is also operating a statewide helpline and giving information about services to Hawaiian residents.

  2. The American Red Cross of Hawaii has deployed an emergency response team to help ship medicine and work with other local and national organizations to respond to the wildfires. Anyone affected by the wildfire can receive assistance at their shelters.

  3. The Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement (CNHA) is working in close collaboration with state and county leaders, nonprofit organizations, and community members to get an understanding of the quickly evolving priorities. CNHA has partnered with Native Hawaiian and community organizations/businesses to raise up to 1 million dollars in donations for those impacted by the wildfires.

  4. The Hawai’i Community Foundation Maui Strong Disaster Relief Fund is providing financial resources that can be deployed quickly, with a focus on rapid response and recovery for the devastating wildfires on Maui. HCF is working in close collaboration with state and county leaders, nonprofit organizations, and community members to get an understanding of the quickly evolving priorities.

  5. Maui Food Bank is providing food to people in Maui County that are at risk of hunger, as well as donating food to disaster relief throughout the island. With every $1 donated, the Maui Food Bank can provide 4 meals to people who are hungry living on the island.

  6. Maui Humane Society is on a mission to protect and save the lives of Maui’s animals, accepting all in need, educating the community, and inspiring respect and compassion towards all animals. The organization is helping to rescue, foster, and reunite lost animals due to the wildfires.

  7. Maui Mutual Aid is run by volunteers looking to get funds and support to residents who have been displaced and vulnerable residents, such as the elderly, those with physical disabilities, renters, and individuals without insurance. Maui Mutual Aid is providing resources to victims of the wildfires.

  8. Public Schools of Hawaii Foundation (PSHF) is partnering with the Hawaii State Department of Education to support our public school communities impacted by the destructive wildfires on Maui.
