Tips: Doing More with Less

Looking to do more with less? You’re not alone!

Check out our latest tips to make your precious budget dollars go farther when it comes to a faster return on investment and maximizing your bottom line now, and in the future!

Tip #1: Question the status quo.

Seek out inefficiencies. Find opportunities. Don’t rule anything out. Approach your data with a scalpel and not an ax. And most importantly, don’t be afraid to make changes the data is pointing directly to. Put it all out on the table and move away from the dangerous “this is what we’ve always done” mentality.

Tip #2: Monthly for the win.

You’ve probably heard it for years, and there’s a reason! Shift money you find to be ineffective at producing an acceptable return into the growth of your monthly giving file. Better yet, make a solid case to leadership on how additional investment in growing your monthly program now will accelerate program growth long into the future. Looking for where to start? Reach out to us! We love monthly giving and have lots of data to back up that obsession!

Tip #3: Prioritize.

This may seem like a silly tip, but honestly, it’s critical. Too often there’s a test to test mentality without a clear line on how chosen tests will contribute to the long-term vision of the program. Testing is expensive, can be risky, and ultimately should be done as part of a larger strategic plan. #nomoretweaktests (let’s make it happen!)

Tip #4: Stay on Course.

It can be tempting to detour and travel down a rabbit hole leading to dreaded data paralysis. We’re here to say resist the urge our friends! Establish key milestones when it comes to your strategic plans to stay on course with analysis that is meaningful for the future and be ready to pivot and adjust direction based on what the data is telling you – not to satisfy a curiosity. Staff time is valuable and using it wisely is key when it comes to keeping your eye on the prize.
